Caught on camera: Python vs cobra fight in NTU

SINGAPORE - A python and cobra fight caught on camera has gone viral, after the photos were posted on the Nanyang Technological University Graduate Student Council's Facebook page on Thursday.

It received more than 700 shares as of 9pm.

According to the post, the rare incident was captured on the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) campus, near the Research Techno Plaza.

In a video posted by an eye-witness on YouTube, the two large snakes could be seen wrestling with each other, before one of them, believed to be a king cobra, broke free and slithered into the bushes.

The snakes were identified by netizens who posted their comments on Facebook.

The other snake, believed to be a reticulated python, was taken away by NTU pest control.

In the post, the user advised all to be alert when taking the sidewalk near the bushes, especially "night researchers and night runners".

According to The Straits Times, the photos were taken by graduate student Abishek Ambede, 25.
