Caught for scrawling graffiti on wall of Bukit Panjang HDB flat

SINGAPORE - A 22-year-old suspect has been arrested for loanshark harassment, police said in a statement today (Jan 13).

On Dec 10, 2015, the police said that they received a report of a case of apparent loanshark harassment whereby paint was splashed on the door and graffiti was scrawled on the wall of a HDB unit at Bukit Panjang.

Upon receiving the report, officers from the Bukit Panjang Neighbourhood Police Centre conducted checks to establish the suspect's identity.

During their routine patrol on Tuesday (Jan 12), officers spotted the suspect and arrested him along Segar Road.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect is also believed to have carried out a similar act of harassment in Sengkang.

The suspect will be charged in court on Thursday (Jan 14). If found guilty, he could be fined up to $50,000, jailed up to 5 years and caned up to 6 strokes.
