Changi Airport's T5 to focus on passenger connectivity and convenience

Changi Airport's T5 to focus on passenger connectivity and convenience

The concept plan for the upcoming Terminal 5 at Changi Airport has been finalised, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The new terminal, which will serve a passenger capacity greater than T1, T2 and T3 combined, will focus on providing travellers greater connectivity and convenience.

T5 will be connected to the other three terminals, allowing the expanded Changi Airport to operate as a single, integrated airport, along with access to the MRT network.

MOT said that more passengers will be able to access their gates directly from the large main terminal building.

T5 will also offer travellers the shortest walking distances, shorter connection times for transfer flights and easy navigation in the building.

MOT added that the new terminal will be built in two phases, and air traffic growth will determine the pace of construction.

The concept plan was revised from the two preliminary concepts jointly developed by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and the Changi Airport Group (CAG), with the guidance of Changi 2036 Steering Committee (SC).
