SINGAPORE - A charity walk-and-cycle event to raise awareness of multiple myeloma, a rare type of blood cancer, was held at the Gardens by the Bay on Saturday morning.
Some 50 cyclists and 170 walkers took part in the event, which was flagged off by Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan.
More than $420,000 has been raised so far and all proceeds will go to furthering research at the National University Cancer Institute.
The charity event was organised by retiree Chan Li Leng, 60, a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma eight years ago.
