Charred body found at site of Sungei Kadut fire

SINGAPORE - A factory at Sungei Kadut Street 6, near Kranji, caught fire late Sunday morning. 

In an update provided by the Singapore Civil Defence Force, a charred body was found after the fire was fully extinguished at about 1pm.

Police are investigating the unnatural death. 

According to an update on Singapore Civil Defence Force's (SCDF) Facebook page at around 12.50pm, unmanned firefighting machines were deployed and the fire is under control.

"2 male casualties who sustained burn injuries have been conveyed to SGH. Search operations are still ongoing," the SCDF wrote on Facebook.

Citizen journalism site Stomp received photos from contributors, saying that they had seen smoke over the area from their flats around 10.30am.
