Child porn peddler uses social media links: CIB

TAIWAN - The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) has cracked down on a child pornography site that delivered content directly to members' accounts on social networking websites, such as Facebook, officials said.

The CIB has arrested a suspect, surnamed Fan, in Nantou for managing the site, which has accumulated almost 12,000 members since going online in April, the officials said.

The site allowed members, who paid an annual fee of NT$1,600 (S$67.84) , to log in with their Facebook, Google and Yahoo accounts, and delivered child pornography directly to their social networking accounts, the officials said.

The CIB officials said it is the first time that child pornography has been found to manipulate links to social networking sites.

The CIB started an investigation in late June after receiving a complaint from the anti-child prostitution group ECPAT Taiwan, the officials said
