Children's Society's walk raises $800,000 for the needy

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Children's Society held a fund-raising walk today (Sept 6) that attracted 6,000 participants and raised $800,000 for children, youth and families in need.

Held at Palawan Beach in Sentosa, the walkathon and carnival aimed "to encourage family bonding while promoting the spirit of charity", the society said in a statement today.

Participants also got to enjoy local childhood games like chapteh and zero-point, and snack on old-time favourites like kacang putih and kueh tutu.
