Chinese prostitute stabbed to death in HK

A prostitute was found unconscious with stab wounds all over her neck and chest yesterday in a Hong Kong flat. Hours later, her suspected attacker tried to flee the police by jumping into the sea.

The prostitute, a 45-year-old woman from mainland China, was found at about 3.45am in a flat in Yau Ma Tei that is believed to be a brothel, reported the South China Morning Post. She later died in hospital from her injuries.

A police source said: "A woman heard (the victim) screaming and went to check. She (saw) a man running out from the flat."

The woman had more than 20 stab wounds to the neck and chest that are believed to have been inflicted with a knife discovered at the scene, said the police.

The suspect, a 20-year-old man, was a customer who went to the flat for sexual services.

He was arrested at the Kwun Tong promenade later that day.
