A D Travel's agent licence revoked: STB

SINGAPORE - Travel agency A D Travel's (ADT) licence has been revoked by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) with effect from today (Dec 7).

Its licence (No. 02525) was suspended on July 30 as it failed to meet the minimum financial requirements as mandated under the Travel Agents Regulations, said STB.

In a statement Monday, STB added that it also received complaints about their inability to settle agreed refunds.

"During the period of suspension, ADT did not honour its repayment commitments and could not be contacted," said STB.

"ADT was also unable to provide evidence to show that it has met STB's minimum financial requirements," the tourism board added.

The STB said "(it) adopts a serious view against errant travel agents and will not hesitate to take necessary actions to protect consumers' interests and safeguard the reputation of Singapore's tourism sector".
