Day of the goat at the Istana

More than 46,000 visitors thronged the grounds of The Istana on the second day of Chinese New Year yesterday.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Mrs Mary Tan joined them to enjoy dances and other performances to mark the start of the Year of the Goat.

Many of them took pictures at an enclosure with the animal the year is named for.

Others enjoyed picnics on the sprawling grounds.

They could also sign up for a guided walk to appreciate the Istana's flora, fauna and biodiversity.
