Defence Minister Ng visits injured navy man Jason Chee

SINGAPORE - Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen visited injured navy serviceman Jason Chee at his home on Sunday afternoon, about a month since Mr Chee was discharged from hospital.

Dr Ng, who is also MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, met Mr Chee at his Shunfu Road home with other MPs and grassroots members, as part of conducting house visits in the area. The minister said he was "truly inspired" by Mr Chee and that the serviceman had made great progress in his recovery.

Mr Chee, who holds the Military Expert 2 rank in the Republic of Singapore Navy, lost both his legs and his left arm in a ship accident last December.

He was discharged from Ang Mo Kio-Thye Hua Kwan Hospital in June, and will be practising to walk with prosthetic legs as part of his rehabilitation.
