More than $10,000 was raised for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund at a charity lunch yesterday.
Organised by New Ubin Seafood in Sin Ming Road, off Upper Thomson Road, all proceeds from the event were donated. The eatery put together a special menu for 10, at a price of $888 excluding tax. The menu included a sashimi platter, a fish maw and crab meat soup, roasted chicken with squid paste, and dessert.
About 200 diners turned up and, along with donations, they contributed about $10,800 to the fund, which helps needy students with school expenses. ST PHOTO: CHEW SENG KIM
