Dolce Gusto teams up with BMW MINI for limited edition machine

SINGAPORE - Beverage manufacturer Nescafe has collaborated with carmaker BMW's MINI Cooper to produce a limited edition version of the Dolce Gusto coffee system.

The Genio 2 system features the German car brand MINI's iconic winged logo on the machine's compact design along with sleek curves and monochrome tones.

The Dolce Gusto, which was first introduced to the market in September 2011, is a home coffee machine that lets coffee-drinkers make cafe-inspired drinks, such as cappucinos and lattes, easily by inserting a pre-packaged capsule, water and milk into the machine.

Different levels of pressure creates different types of froth for each cuppa.

Along with the limited edition machine, Nestle has also launched a darker and more intense coffee flavour to the Dolce Gusto beverages.

Called the Ristretto Ardenza, this new coffee has an intensity level of 11, two levels higher than the Grande Intenso coffee which has a level 9 intensity.

Made from a blend of Arabica and robusta coffee beans, the Ristretto is the "most intense masterpiece" according to Nestle.

It is best prepared with lesser water for a short, robust espresso that leaves a sharp yet nutty aftertaste on the tongue.

This new coffee blend is the latest addition to the popular cappucino capsules - the top choice for Singaporean drinkers - latte macchiato and cafe au lait capsules.

Nestle's Dolce Gusto MINI Limited Edition is sold at TANGS Orchard, TANGS VivoCity and the official Nestle Dolce Gusto webshop at an introductory price of $259 (usual price: $289).
