DPM Teo on 5-day official visit to China

SINGAPORE - Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, will make an official visit to China from July 27 to 31.

Mr Teo's visit to Beijing is at the invitation of Member of CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and CPC Central Committee Political and Legal Affairs Commission Secretary Meng Jianzhu.

DPM Teo will deliver an opening address at the second Singapore-China Social Governance Forum.

Started in 2012, the Forum is a platform for both countries to share their experiences in social governance.

In Beijing, DPM Teo will also meet Member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau Standing Committee and Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, Member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Central Organisation Department Minister Zhao Leji, as well as other Chinese leaders. 

DPM Teo will also visit Chongqing, where he will meet with municipal leaders. DPM Teo will also be visiting the Liangjiang New Area and the Chongqing Planning Exhibition Hall.

DPM Teo will be accompanied by Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development Lee Yi Shyan, Parliamentary Secretary for Social and Family Development, and Culture, Community and Youth Low Yen Ling as well as senior officials from MFA, MSF, and MTI.

Officials from MCCY, MFA, MHA, MINLAW, MND, MOM, MSF, MTI, PSD, CSC, Supreme Court and People's Association will be taking part in the Forum.
