Egypt's president in 1st State Visit to Singapore since diplomatic relations began in 1966

SINGAPORE - President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi will make a State Visit to Singapore from August 30 to September 1, 2015 at the invitation of President Tony Tan Keng Yam. This will be the first State Visit by an Egyptian President to Singapore since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1966, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

There will be an official Welcome Ceremony in honour of President Al Sisi at the Istana, followed by a call on President Tan and a meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, said the MFA. President Al Sisi will attend an event with business leaders jointly organised by the Ministry of Trade & Industry, International Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation. President Tan will also host a State Banquet in honour of President Al Sisi.

President Al Sisi will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Dr Hossam Eldin Moghazy, Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman, Chief of Staff of the President Major General Moustafa Sherif, Chairman of Suez Canal Authority Admiral Mohab Mamesh and Director of the Office of the President Major General Abbas Kamel.
