Ex-SCDF chief fired from public service after corruption conviction

SINGAPORE - Former Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) chief Peter Lim Sin Pang has been dismissed from public service, the Ministry of Home Affairs said on Saturday.

A spokesman said the decision was taken by the Public Service Commission following the conclusion of civil service disciplinary proceedings against Lim.

He was convicted in May of corruptly obtaining sex from a woman whose engineering company had later bid for a contract from his agency.

Lim was given a six-month jail term.
