
SINGAPORE - Some 10 diners had to evacuate a newly opened restaurant in Little India after a fire broke out yesterday (Feb 14) afternoon, Shin Min Daily News reported.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a statement today that they were alerted to the incident at about 1pm. Two fire engines, a Red Rhino, a support vehicle and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene at 14 Cuff Road.
The SCDF said that the fire involving kitchen ducting was extinguished using a water jet, and that no ambulance assistance was required although man refused conveyance.
According to Shin Min, the restaurant had been operating for about a week when the incident happened.
