Fire at Pinnacle@Duxton: Five-room flat on 29th floor damaged

A resident in the flat next door in Block 1E said she heard loud pops and smelt smoke around 3.35pm.

According to a spokesperson from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), officers were alerted to the fire on the 29th floor of block 1D at The Pinnacle@Duxton on Cantonment Road at about 3.30pm Sunday. The fire involved the contents of a living room.
SCDF dispatched three fire engines and one support appliance to the scene. The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes, said the spokesperson.
10 residents self-evacuated to the refuge floor on the 26th floor, while another 30 residents evacuated to the open deck on the third floor, prior to SCDF's arrival.
No one was injured in the blaze and the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
