Five to be charged for Woodlands attack

Five males have been arrested for rioting with a deadly weapon in Woodlands.

The suspects, aged between 16 and 22, attacked a 21-year-old man along Woodlands Avenue 3 on Tuesday and fled before the police arrived.

One of the attackers had injured the victim with a knife.

Officers from Jurong Police Division managed to get closed-circuit television footage from the area and established the identities of the suspects.

They were rounded up at various locations on Wednesday and is expected to be charged in court today.

If convicted of rioting with a deadly weapon, they face up to 10 years' jail and could be caned.
