Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to visit Indonesia

SINGAPORE - Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will continue his introductory visits to regional countries, with a two-day visit to Indonesia.

In a statement on Monday (Jan 11), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said that Dr Balakrishnan would visit Indonesia from Tuesday, Jan 12 to Wednesday, Jan 13.

During the visit, he will meet with Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rudiantara.

He will also meet with Jakarta governor Basuku Tjahaja Purnama, as well as other prominent Indonesian personalities.

During the visit, he will be accompanied by officials from MFA.

Dr Balakrishnan was named Foreign Affairs Minister after the general election in September last year.

He made similar introductory visits to Brunei and Malaysia last October.
