Former cop charged with forgery, CBT

While stationed at Bedok Police Division, Sergeant Norazly Joihani, 33, allegedly committed forgery and criminal breach of trust (CBT) and other offences.

Norazly, who was discharged from service on March 1, allegedly committed the offences between Jan 12, 2009, and Nov 1, 2010. He faced 60 charges in court yesterday.

32 counts of forgery

Norazly is accused of writing entries in a document known as the "daily monitoring returns list" and confirming them using the name of another officer.

19 counts of forgery with intention to commit fraud

In 18 cases, he allegedly forged the signatures of others on receipts to make it appear as if their property had been returned to them.

2 counts of CBT

He is alleged to have dishonestly misappropriated cash totalling S$2,714.

Norazly also faces seven counts of disciplinary offences under the Police Force Act, including failing to return a mobile phone and S$160 to their rightful owners.

He is represented by lawyer Jason Dendroff and the pre-trial conference is set for July 31.
