Former MP Chiam See Tong recovering from hip injury

SINGAPORE - Former Potong Pasir MP Chiam See Tong is recovering from a hip injury at a rehabilitation hospital and will be discharged on Monday, said the Singapore People's Party in a Facebook post on Saturday night.

It said that Mr Chiam "thanks all well wishers and looks forward to meeting them at the coffee shops" again. The post had a picture of him, his wife Lina Chiam and former PAP MP and presidential candidate Tan Cheng Bock.

Dr Tan posted the same picture on his Facebook page, saying: "We talked about old parliamentary days... We were on opposite sides but respected each other... Get well soon Chiam."
