Hunt for Iranian assassin

Immigration police at Sadao border pass in Songkhla are on the lookout for a suspected Iranian assassin on the run after killing a Dubai businessman.

Dubai asked Thai authorities to locate suspect Rahmat Asadi, 32, who entered Thailand on Wednesday. Police suspect he may try to escape to Malaysia in order to return to Iran.

Songkhla Immigration Police, led by Colonel Seksan Ong-ard, have been on the lookout for the suspect around the clock. Asadi is believed to be an expert killer and allegedly has ties to terrorist groups.

Southern border checkpoints in Songkhla, Narathiwat and Yala have been given his picture.
