IKEA Singapore recalls drum sticks and tongue drums over choking risk

SINGAPORE - IKEA Singapore has issued a recall on Thursday (Jan 14) for LATTJO drum sticks and tongue drums due to a choking hazard.

According to a statement posted on the Swedish furniture retailer's Facebook page and website, the recall is due to six reports from the company's workers that the rubber ball of the sticks can be detached or unscrewed, and that represents a safety hazard.

However, no incidents have been reported worldwide.

Customers who have bought the affected products since Nov 1 last year are advised to bring them back to any IKEA store where they can receive a full refund. Proof of purchase is not required.

Those who require more information may contact IKEA Customer Relations at +65 6786 6868.
