Indonesia's foreign minister to visit Singapore

SINGAPORE - Indonesia's newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, will be making her introductory visit to Singapore tomorrow.

She will meet with Minister for Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Minister for Law K Shanmugam, followed by a delegation meeting.

MFA said in a statement today: "Minister Retno's visit will be an opportunity to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Indonesia and discuss regional and international developments.

"The visit will also strengthen ties between the two Foreign Ministries."

Retno, who is Indonesia's first woman foreign minister, will also be paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong later in the day.
