Jetstar launches Dreamliner service in Singapore

Budget carrier Jetstar has introduced the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for its weekly service between Singapore and Melbourne.

The aircraft will service passengers on the long-haul five weekly service starting today (Aug 6).

Passengers on the flight today are the first Jetstar customers to fly on this wide-body aircraft. The Dreamliner will replace the Airbus A330s that have been operating the route since 2010.

Jetstar Asia CEO, Mr Bara Pasupathi said: "The introduction of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will mean a more consistent customer experience for Jetstar's long-haul customers and also offer the airline substantial fuel savings and cost benefits to help us keep fares low."

The new aircraft is configured in two classes for 335 passengers and offers international business class and economy seats.

The service is operated by Jetstar Airways, part of the Jetstar Group.
