SINGAPORE - The 9th Singapore Maritime Week (SMW), taking place from April 6 to 11, will be lined up with activities for everyone, from the industry players to the general public.

Driven by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), SMW will feature 29 events, the biggest show since its inception in 2006. The exciting line up of events are organised by MPA, key local and international maritime players.

"This year's SMW has close to 30 events, built around the theme of People, Ideas and Opportunities. We have put in more efforts to reach out to the public, especially the young, through fun and exciting outreach activities," said Mr Andrew Tan, Chief Executive, MPA.

Singaporeans can visit the SMW exhibition at VivoCity, Jurong Point and Parkway Parade, from March 31 to April 6 to learn more about Singapore's maritime industry.

More than 400 students, maritime employees and public, will go on Maritime Learning Journeys that include a port and sea tour to the Raffles Lighthouse.

There are also forums discussing maritime issues. The Moore Stephens Shipping Forum will discuss the economic trends that affect the shipping industry.

For those who wish to network, the Singapore Yacht Show offers an opportunity to discover some of the world's finest superyacht and international yacht brands in a highly social setting, giving visitors a chance to enjoy luxury yachting at its finest.

The Asia Pacific Superyacht and Boating Conference is the only regional industry platform to discuss ideas and promote the superyacht and boating industry.

The Singapore Maritime Lecture cocktail, Seatrade Asia Awards and the Sea Asia launch reception will provide networking opportunities for the local and international maritime participants.

The Dry Cargo Chartering Seminar and the Asian Maritime Law Conference will showcase the professionals and knowledge leaders from these two important services.
