Jordanian king in S'pore for 2-day visit

Jordanian King Abdullah II will make a two-day state visit here starting today, at the invitation of President Tony Tan Keng Yam.

This will be King Abdullah's second state visit to Singapore

On Monday, he will call on President Tan at the Istana who will later host a state banquet in his honour.

King Abdullah will be hosted to lunch by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong tomorrow, a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry here said.

During his visit, the Jordanian king will meet business leaders at a round-table organised by the Singapore Business Federation and visit the Institute of Technical Education College East and the Civil Service College.

King Abdullah will be accompanied by his chief adviser on religious and cultural affairs, Prince Ghazi Muhammad, as well as a high-level official delegation.
