Jubilee babies get special visits

The nation welcomed the arrival of jubilee babies at the stroke of midnight yesterday as it celebrated its 50th birthday.

It was all smiles for two couples at KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH).

Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Grace Fu visited the newborns and their families at KKH yesterday to present the SG50 Baby Jubilee Gift and the hospital's commemorative gifts. Also given out were handknitted pairs of SG50 booties made by 78-year-old Mrs A. Prasad, in support of the SG50 Baby Jubilee Gift Community Initiative.

Elsewhere, two baby boys were also born at midnight on National Day, at Mount Elizabeth Novena and Parkway East hospitals.
