Kindergarten burglar arrested

SINGAPORE - A 40-year-old man suspected of breaking into a kindergarten located along Bangkit Road has been arrested.

The kindergarten staff discovered the break-in on Feb 10 when they realised that $680, a tablet computer and a mobile phone were missing from the office.

The suspect was arrested at Bangkit Road on Thursday (April 2) at about 5pm. He is believed to be involved in other similar cases, the police said in a statement issued Friday.

The suspect will be charged in Court on Saturday (April 4) for the offence of Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries an imprisonment term of up to 14 years and a fine.
