Lantern festival at the Gardens

The Mid-Autumn Festival @ The Gardens 2014 kicked off last night with the sounding of the gong by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

One of the main features of the 11-day celebration from yesterday to Sept 14 is the numerous lantern set pieces scattered around the gardens. Visitors will be treated to nightly cultural performances among other activities. Opening hours are from 6pm to 11pm (Mon-Fri) and 3pm to 11pm (Sat-Sun).

The event is jointly organised by the Chinese Newspapers Division of Singapore Press Holdings, People's Association and Gardens by the Bay. Admission to the festival is free.
