SINGAPORE - Former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew's condition has improved slightly, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement today.
He continues to be on antibiotics, remains sedated and is on mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Singapore General Hospital.
The 91-year-old was admitted to the hospital on Feb 5 with severe pneumonia.
The state of his health loomed large on the minds of many at his constituency's Chinese New Year celebration on Thursday night, The Straits Times reported. The MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC was to have been the guest of honour at the annual dinner, but had missed it for the third year in a row.
