Luxury pearl brand debuts at Lee Hwa Jewellery

SINGAPORE - Pearl and diamond fine jewellery brand, Yoko London, is now exclusively available at Lee Hwa Jewellery.

Yoko London, owned by the Hakimian family and described as one of Europe's most prolific pearl wholesalers, was founded in 1740 when they were appointed guardians of Nadir Shah of Persia's treasury of jewels.

Today, Yoko London provides luxury jewellery to a clientele in over 70 countries, and their designs are seen on Middle Eastern royalty, and celebrities like singer-actress Pixie Lott and Mollie King from English-Irish band, The Saturdays.

The best quality pearls are sourced globally and assembled in their London headquarters by their skilled jewellers, together with fine gemstones like VS quality diamonds.

Yoko London prides itself for its high-quality jewellery, boasting that a masterpiece can take years to create.

Chief executive of Yoko London, Michael Hakimian, revealed to Financial Times that it can take up to two years to assemble 40 or 50 matching gems just to create a show-stopping necklace.

The jeweller has to ensure that the pearls in each of their luxury pieces sits in balance with the other fine gems and precious stones.

The British-based pearl company also received the honour of being chosen to have four sets of their designs featured at the 'Pearls' exhibition at the London's Victoria and Albert Museum in 2013.

Yoko London is available at Lee Hwa Diamond Promenade at ION Orchard and prices are available upon request.
