Male newborn buried in garden of Serangoon Gardens house

A woman in her 30s was on Saturday charged with concealing the birth of her son and secretly disposing of his body.

She is believed to be the Indonesian maid of a family living in Brighton Avenue in Serangoon Gardens.

Police made the grisly find at around 5.20pm on Friday, after following up on a police report. It is not known when or why the report was made.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the newborn was buried in the garden of the house. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

It was reported that the family living in the two-storey house had discovered the woman's pregnancy and were the ones who informed the police.

The maid is said to have been working here for less than six months.
