Man, 20, arrested for a series of outrage of modesty cases

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 20-year-old man for a series of outrage of modesty cases in Jurong West.

Between March to July this year, police received several outrage of modesty reports committed in Jurong West. The suspect was described as an unknown male in his twenties.

Police believed that the culprit could be the same person due to the description of the suspect and the proximity of the cases.

A task force comprising of officers from Jurong Police Force managed to establish the identity of the man and caught him in the vicinity of Jurong West on Aug 13, at around 5pm.

Preliminary investigations revealed that he is involved in at least four such cases.

He will be charged in court on Aug 15 for the offence of Outrage of Modesty.

If convicted, he could face a jail term up to two years, and be liable to caning.
