SINGAPORE - A 23-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning for outrage of modesty.A 27-year-old female victim made a police report on Monday night, saying that she&nbsp;was&nbsp;molested&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;lift&nbsp;of&nbsp;an&nbsp;HDB&nbsp;block&nbsp;along&nbsp;Jurong&nbsp;West&nbsp;St&nbsp;65.The suspect was arrested at 9am today in&nbsp;the&nbsp;vicinity&nbsp;of&nbsp;Joo&nbsp;Koon&nbsp;MRT&nbsp;Station.He will&nbsp;be&nbsp;charged&nbsp;in&nbsp;court&nbsp;on Feb 1&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;offence&nbsp;of&nbsp;Outrage of&nbsp;Modesty&nbsp;under&nbsp;Section&nbsp;354A(2)(a)&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Penal&nbsp;Code,&nbsp;Chapter&nbsp;224.If convicted,&nbsp;the&nbsp;suspect&nbsp;may&nbsp;be&nbsp;jailed&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;term&nbsp;of&nbsp;not&nbsp;less&nbsp;than&nbsp;3&nbsp;years&nbsp;and&nbsp;not&nbsp;more&nbsp;than&nbsp;10&nbsp;years&nbsp;and may&nbsp;also&nbsp;be&nbsp;liable&nbsp;to&nbsp;caning.Commander&nbsp; of&nbsp; Jurong&nbsp; Police&nbsp; Division,&nbsp; Deputy&nbsp; Assistant&nbsp; Commissioner&nbsp; of&nbsp; Police (DAC)&nbsp;Wilson&nbsp;Lim, advised&nbsp; victims&nbsp; who&nbsp; encounter&nbsp; such&nbsp; situations&nbsp;to&nbsp; remain&nbsp; calm,&nbsp;take&nbsp; note&nbsp; of the&nbsp;suspect's&nbsp;physical&nbsp;descriptions,&nbsp;and&nbsp;to&nbsp;call&nbsp;the&nbsp;police&nbsp;as&nbsp;soon&nbsp;as&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;safe&nbsp;to&nbsp;do&nbsp;so.ellenja@sph.com.sg
