Man arrested for molesting woman on MRT train

SINGAPORE - A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly molesting a woman on board a west-bound MRT train yesterday morning.

The victim confronted the suspect who tried to flee, but was eventually detained by Passenger Service Centre staff at the unspecified MRT station.

The police were subsequently alerted to the incident and placed the suspect under arrest.

He will be charged in court on Thursday and faces a jail term of up to two years, a fine and caning if convicted.
