SINGAPORE - A 33-year-old man was arrested at about midnight on Thursday for his suspected involvement in a theft case.
Earlier this month, another 33-year-old man reported that his mobile phone, wallet and some personal documents were missing after a training session at a gym in Raffles Boulevard. He had left his valuables in a locker at the gym while exercising.
Officers from Central Police Division managed to identify the suspect and arrested him at the vicinity of South Bridge Road at 12.05am on Jan 23.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect is believed to be involved in other similar theft cases.
The suspect will be charged in court on Jan 24 for an offence of theft under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which carries punishment with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 7 years. He may also be liable for a fine.
