Man bleeds to death after being attacked and slashed

KUALA LUMPUR - A man was left to bleed to death in his car after he was attacked and slashed by four men in Jinjang over a suspected drug distribution conflict yesterday.

Police said they were alerted of a commotion at the PPR Beringin flats along Jalan Miri.

They arrived to find Sathaya Devan Ramanatan, 24, slouched in a pool of blood with half his body out of the open door of his red Proton Wira at around 2.45pm. The victim had deep cuts on his head, arms and knees.

Sathaya Devan was found unconscious but still alive and was sent to the Selayang Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3.45pm.

City deputy CID director ACP Khairi Ahrasa said investigations revealed that the victim was believed to have been attacked by four men over an alleged drug distribution issue.

"We have arrested one 22-year-old who was found in a car that had dents, believed to have been caused by the fight that led to the victim's death. We also recovered a motorcycle and another car at the scene that we believed was left behind by the suspects," he said. Police were hunting for the four suspects.
