Man caught for housebreaking and vehicle theft around Eunos

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 42-year-old male suspect for allegedly breaking into an office unit at Ubi Avenue 2 and for vehicle theft at a carpark around Eunos Avenue 3.

The housebreaking case occurred on March 12. The suspect is believed to have entered the office by tampering with the main door. Cash amounting to about $300, 2 cameras and a laptop were stolen.

Officers from Bedok Police Division conducted extensive enquiries and established the identity of the suspect. He was subsequently spotted driving a van that was reported stolen on Dec 27, 2013.

The man was subsequently arrested on Thursday (March 13).  

He will be charged in court on March 15 for Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code Chapter 224 which carries a maximum of 14 years' imprisonment.
