Man claims trial to raping wife

KANGAR - A 22-year-old man from Arau yesterday claimed trial to raping his pregnant wife and abetting his cousin to rape her as well.
The man from Kampung Belat Raja, Jalan Tambun Tulang, Arau, was charged with raping his 19-year-old wife at their home about 3.15pm on Jan 1.
He was also charged with abetting his cousin, a Form 4 student, to rape his wife.
The 16-year-old was charged separately.
Judge Abdul Rashid Daud denied bail for the man but granted his cousin RM10,000 bail in one surety and fixed Feb 10 for mention.
The duo were arrested on the day of the incident after the victim lodged a police report.
In Kajang, a 67-year-old man was charged at the Sessions Court with raping his granddaughter last week.
He was alleged to have raped the 15-year-old girl at Apartment Sutera Mas, Jalan Kwan Tung, Sg Chua, here, at 8.30am on Jan 3.
Counsel Mazhar Abdul Malek applied for bail as his client had diabetes and high blood pressure.
Judge Nor Hazani Hamzah set bail at RM18,000 bail in one surety and fixed Feb 17 for mention.
