SINGAPORE - A 24-year-old man suspected of molesting a female on the train was arrested after being detained by a fellow commuter.
On Thursday, at about 11pm, police got a call that a female victim had been molested while travelling towards Sembawang MRT station.
Investigations revealed that the suspect had allegedly molested the victim while he was standing behind the victim on the train.
The victim shouted for help and another commuter called the police. The commuter also helped to detain the suspect at Sembawang MRT station until the police arrived at the scene.
The suspect was charged in court today. If found guilty, he could be imprisoned for up to 2 years, or be fined or caned.
