Man stabbed along Boon Tat Street dies, 69-year-old man arrested

A 69-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 38-year-old man, police said in a media statement on Monday (July 10).

The victim was found lying motionless at 27 Boon Tat Street when police arrived.

He was taken unconscious to Singapore General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2.31pm.

An eyewitness, Mr Jeffrey Lim, 55, said that he saw the victim bleeding profusely after he was stabbed.

Paramedics attempted to revive the man before an ambulance took him to the hospital, he added.

The police also cordoned off Boon Tat Street, local media reported.

In photos submitted to citizen journalism website Stomp, a pool of blood could be seen on the footpath outside one of the shophouses.

Police said that investigations are ongoing.
