Medium, 13, exorcises spirit from Singapore house

Foo became an overnight sensation in June 2013 when he offered to help locate the body of economy rice seller Lim Chin Aik, who was said to have been buried about 40m underground after a lightning arrester fell on his car in Jalan Macalister.

SINGAPORE - A 13-year-old Malaysian is said to have exorcised an evil spirit from a house in Singapore, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The house owner, known only as Chen, 36, said she sought the help of a medium named Foo Jia Mint in March.

Foo, from Bukit Mertajam, became an overnight sensation in June when he offered to help locate the body of economy rice seller Lim Chin Aik, who was said to have been buried about 40m underground after a lightning arrester fell on his car in Jalan Macalister.

China Press quoted Chen, a permanent resident in the republic who is also from Bukit Mertajam, as saying that she felt better after the "cleansing" carried out by Foo.

Before that, she said her relationship with her husband was strained and they would quarrel over petty matters after moving into their new home in Jurong last year.

"When the boy came to my house, he told me he saw something.

"After getting rid of the evil spirit, I can sense that everything is smoother, especially my relationship with my husband," she said. The boy's mother Susan Goh said she brought Foo to the republic three times to carry out the exorcism.

She said clients have to bear their travelling and lodging expenses, in addition to paying them between RM2,000 and RM3,000 as allowances.

"Besides carrying out such exorcism on weekends only, my son leads a normal life just like any other teen," she said.
