UNITED STATES - Two US men forced a 15-year-old girl to work on their pot farm, locked her in a tiny metal toolbox and used her as a sex slave.
Ryan Balletto (left), 30, and Patrick Pearmain (right), 24, from California, face charges of sexual assault and cultivating marijuana for sale, among others, according to a press release issued by the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
They had sex with the teen on their Clear Lake farm of more than a thousand marijuana plants, reported the New York Daily News.
A third suspect, Eric Edgar, 45, was also arrested in Los Angeles in May on a sexual assault charge after the girl identified him as one of her assailants, reported NBC Los Angeles.
Police said they found a rack to hold someone captive among a slew of bondage sex devices near the box, reported station KCRA.
The men called the teen "a trooper" because she did not yell for help when they locked her in the box, she told police.
Police also uncovered a massive arsenal of military-grade weapons, which included assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, loaded magazines, night-vision devices, body armour and face masks.
Police called it "the largest and most sophisticated bulk of weapons seized in recent Lake County Sheriff's Office history".
"They grow pot everywhere in Lake County," said Mr Bob Clouse, who lives nearby. "It's ridiculous that they get away with it, especially that much."
"Pot is one thing, but sexual abuse - that's very bad," said Mr Jimmy Martinez. "That's absolutely wrong."
The Federal Bureau of Investigation was already investigating the pot growing when the Los Angeles Police Department contacted Lake County authorities to tell them that a missing Los Angeles girl may have been kidnapped and held captive in Clear Lake. That is when police moved in to find the girl, who they say is now safe.
Balletto and Pearmain were arrested and charged with intent to distribute marijuana and using a minor in drug operations. If convicted, they could face life in prison..
