Minister for Foreign Affairs K. Shanmugam to visit Sri Lanka, India

SINGAPORE - Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K. Shanmugam will visit Sri Lanka and India from tomorrow (Feb 23) to Thursday (Feb 26).

In Sri Lanka, Minister Shanmugam will visit Colombo where he will call on President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Minister Shanmugam will also meet his counterpart, Minister of External Affairs Mangala Samaraweera, and Governor of the Central Bank Arjuna Mahendran.

The visit aims to reaffirm the strong and friendly relations between Singapore and Sri Lanka.

In India, Minister Shanmugam will visit Jaipur and meet Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Minister Shanmugam will also visit Hyderabad and meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. In his meetings with Chief Minister Raje and Chief Minister Naidu, Minister Shanmugam will discuss how Singapore can strengthen its bilateral cooperation with Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh respectively.

For the visit to Rajasthan, apart from senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Shanmugam will be accompanied by representatives from Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE), Temasek Foundation, ITE Education Services (ITEES) and a business delegation led by International Enterprise Singapore (IES).
