Month-long IHC CultureFest to have carnivals, fairs

SINGAPORE - In line with the opening of the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC), celebrants can look forward to IHC CultureFest.

The IHC CultureFest is a month-long festival to celebrate Indian arts, culture and heritage. Themed, "Kaleidoscope", the festival will feature performances, street fairs, workshops, lectures and film screenings.

The festival kicked off with a musical collaboration with Arte Compass and award-winning Indian singer-composer, Shankar Mahadeva on Saturday.

Mr Shankar was accompanied by folk artists from various parts of India, featuring the legendary South Indian singer and actor Manikka Vinayagam who has sung over 800 songs in various Indian languages and 15,000 devotional and folk songs.

A series of carnivals will be held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between May 8 to 31 along Campbell Lane.
