Muji's conger eel rice kit passes AVA's radioactivity testing

SINGAPORE - Muji's recalled conger eel rice kit has passed the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore's radioactivity testing, the Japanese lifestyle store said in a statement today (Dec 22).

The product was removed from shelves here last Friday (Dec 16) due to concerns that it might have come from areas affected by the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Muji will resume sales of the conger eel rice kit, but will also accept returns and refunds for the product until Dec 31.

The eel rice kit was also recalled in Taiwan and Hong Kong, along with the crab rice kit which is not available in Singapore.
