I was excited to read that the HDB is stepping up its building programme ("21,000 Mt Vernon niches to make way for Bidadari estate"; last Monday), with the first flats in Bidadari to be ready by 2015, two years from now.
Hence, I am puzzled as to why other Build-To-Order projects take more than four years to complete.
For instance, my son signed the option to purchase in July 2011 for a unit in Punggol Waterway II, but it is not expected to be completed until the third quarter of 2015.
I hope the HDB can explain its policy.
