NEA and S'porean cartoonist collaborate on anti-littering series

The National Environment Agency (NEA) and Public Hygiene Council (PHC) are collaborating with local cartoonist Lee Chee Chew (Chew on It) to produce a series of animations and comics for the national Keep Singapore Clean Movement.

In a press release to the media, NEA revealed that the first of the series of animations will be premiering at this year's National Day Parade, as a pre-show reminder to the public to bin their litter and keep the event space clean.

Events like the National Day Parade generate a large amount of litter as participants often do not bin their rubbish in the right manner.

The animation and comics illustrate, through a more light-hearted and humorous medium, the importance of personal responsibility and consideration for others in ensuring a clean living environment.

They will also reflect the idiosyncrasies of local behaviour, which the public would find familiar.

This is the first time that Chew on It is producing an animation for public screening at a national event.
